ANNOUNCEMENTS
Always check the in-class "Absent"/"Missed Handouts" binder when you've been out.
DISTANCE LEARNING:
In round 3, 12th grade government students will be working on financial literacy. This unit is an incredibly relevant unit. I was very much looking forward to working on this in person with you all. The first time I taught this unit, I had students approach me and tell me that had never learned anything so important and relevant to their real-world lives in 12 years of schooling. In fact, I STILL have students from that year (the year you guys were Freshman) emailing me for financial advice (not because they think I'm a financial expert..I'm not...but because the unit and that quarter of our class simply had a profound effect on them). The district Phase 3 DL paper packet and digital links from the district site will include a menu of 10 activities. Students will complete 7 of them, one for each day. Should a student wish to complete the Ramsey Foundations in Personal Finance curriculum instead or in addition, can ask me to enroll them in the Ramsey course. I also recommend watching some Dave Ramsey YouTube videos. He has great, practical financial advice for everyday people (i.e. people who don' t have a ton of money). Another great documentary (although a bit dated) is the 2005 docu "MAXED OUT". Highly recommend! We would have watched it in class.
